Work History

Emmett Madden serves as Of Counsel to Kilkenny Law, and is an experienced personal injury and criminal defense attorney. He has advocated for the rights of those in need his entire professional career and has been selected as a member of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice—Pennsylvania’s premier trial attorney’s organization.

As a personal injury attorney, Mr. Madden has worked out speedy maximum settlements for his clients and has successfully tried hundreds of cases to verdict throughout Eastern Pennsylvania in State and Federal Court. Emmett understands the nuances of insurance law, how to get his clients the best settlement, and is prepared for trial if the insurance company does not offer a reasonable settlement. He consistently obtains millions of dollars in settlements for his clients, including as counsel to one of the lead Plaintiff in Philadelphia’s largest personal injury settlement, Hill v. The Salvation Army, winning a combined award in excess of $227 Million. Mr. Madden has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for over seven years.

As a criminal defense attorney, Mr. Madden has successfully tried hundreds of criminal cases to verdict. From juvenile arrests to murder charges, he zealously advocates for his clients. Criminal representation does not stop with a finding of guilt or innocence and often people need an attorney familiar with addiction and treatment options. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Madden worked as a social worker. This experience combined with his understanding of the legal system makes Mr. Madden an invaluable advocate for his clients.

Mr. Madden is fluent in English and Spanish. He has lived in Spain, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. He has many connections with the Latino community, both in Pennsylvania and abroad. He understands not only the language, but also the many nuanced cultural issues facing the Pennsylvania Latino population and their legal rights.
